What is Xomba?

Xomba plays an important role in an online writer’s income. This interesting online venue offers a double benefit to writers who work online: Writers can earn money writing articles, and writers can earn money promoting articles from other sites. The popular term for a Xomba-type site is a “social bookmarking” site. However, Xomba takes this role one step further and offers a type of online magazine that accepts writer’s articles, too. Writers are invited to add either bookmarks or articles to the site, and Xomba shares the advertising revenue. Even better, Xomba offers a bonus percentage when writers refer others to the site.

Why sign up?

The reason is simple: Money. Writers love to write, and they love to get paid. Even more, writers love to share their thoughts and “creations” with others.

Xomba will help you promote your other acticles. Since the site has been online for a few years, they have “aged” online; thus, the search engines give them a better ranking than the blog post you just made.
In fact, the site has a PR of 5 on Google, which means that they receive priority on the search results. A higher search engine listing means that your article has a better chance of being read.

Writers can earn extra money.

Xomba allows writers to promote their online articles.

Google AdSense

They work with Google AdSense to pay writers. Its writers are invited to open their own Google AdSense account, and the account is linked to their website. When visitors click on the advertisements, 50% of the advertising revenue goes directly into the writer’s AdSense account! (The other 50% goes to Xomba.)

Even better, as writers recommend other writes to join Xomba, they will receive a 10% of their friends’ advertising revenue. Best of all, the 10% is not taken from the friends’ commission, it is taken from Xomba’s portion of the commission.

What You Can Write

On Xomba, writers can submit either a bookmark or an article. A bookmark is generally used to promote an article on another webpage; the writer submits information about the link including a 50-word summary of the article. (Tip: Even though you have already written the article, re-write the summary entirely. You want to have fresh text to invite readers into your article.) You can link directly to your article, and enjoy a nice click-through ratio.

Articles are also a good choice on Xomba. Writers own the copyright to their material, which gives us all a huge sigh of relief. And the best part is that the articles can have as little as 150 words. So if you have an interesting topic that you want to discuss---but you don’t want to include too much research---this is the perfect spot to share your article. And you’ll be pleased to know that you don’t have to wait for editors to approve your work.

The Payment Plan

Writers are paid directly through AdSense. Once the account reaches $100 in income, Google will send you a check. (Remember, your income through Xomba is added to the other income in your Google account, so even a quiet month might throw you past the $100 minimum.)

Just started with Xomba and found it easy to use. Thus far, just bookmarks to hubs. Waiting to see if it brings them traffic. Thanks for writing this informative hub on Xomba.

Miss, I'm glad to see that you joined Xomba. I often use Xomba to bookmark articles, too. Now that I have joined Hub Pages, I am bookmarking my Hubpages too. It will drive traffic here.

I read the TOS, it never says to submit unique content. That's why I am considering submitting some of those content I post in Ezinearticles, probably to put the Creative Common License.

Donna I opened a Xomba account but have never used it. I need to do that. I have been very poor at creating back links - I need to work on that.

Scheng1: I have also heard that you can submit recycled content, but I'm not 100% sure. That would be a great venue for your Ezinearticles work.

Billyaustindillon--Backlinks have really worked well for me. I work on them for about a half hour a day, so it doesn't seem like much work.

Wow, this is very informative. I am with Xomba and they are good for Traffic. I really like the way you explained how it works and will refer people to this link if they have questions on Xomba or Backlinking.

Best Wishes. :)

Thank you very much, Lady_E. I love to make backlinks, as they help my traffic a lot. Each time I create a backlink, I hope that the search engine might rate it higher!
